We had a bitter-sweet weekend get-away at the end of September with our friends Langley, Brian and their beautiful daughters Chase and Madoc. The intent was to get away for a relaxing weekend of mountain biking, yummy food and seeing the trees and their fall colors. The condo Chris had found for us was amazing and just a stone's throw from the base of the mountain, and we all settled in for a great weekend.
The kids enjoyed a fun bike ride on their new seats atop Mummy & Daddy's bikes...
...and we had a beautiful stroll along the Frasier River..
...Anna and Chase we're tight friends all weekend...
Unfortunately the first full-day of mountain biking for Chris and Brian didn't turn out so well. Brian was following closely behind Chris when Chris had a fall. Unfortunately Brian was unable to avoid him and crashed ...badly breaking his wrist! Poor Brian was in pretty bad shape but was still in remakably good spirits considering his injury.
The next day Chris bought a hard-core helment, modeled by Anna, to make sure his noggin is well protected in case of another bad fall!
We capped the weekend off with a beautiful drive back home via Rocky Mountain National Park and even squeezed in a nice little hike with the kids.
