Our second camping adventure for the season took us south of Denver to the San Isabel National Forest near Colorado City. This time we were back to tent camping and as always the kids enjoyed "helping" Chris get things set up.
Meanwhile I was busy trying to distract them so Chris could get the tent up before we lost too much light.
With night #1 behind us Anna was sprightly in the morning peeking out of the tent.
The temperature was glorious (high 70's, low 80's) and we decided to go for a hike along the stream that led to Lake Isabel, not too far from the campsite.
Chris got busy hunting flora and fauna with his camera...
While the kids had a blast hunting for rocks to throw in the stream.
There were lots of cool little boulders for the kids to climb...
And good times along the way...
Back at the tent "naptime" didn't really work out so well (I guess its hard to nap with all that light in a tent),
but the kids did relax a little before hosting a very important meeting in the afternoon with some new friends from a neighboring campsite.
Then Chris helped Anna process the minutes from her meeting.
And of course the entire time one of my favorite things about camping was never far away - camp food! Mmmmm.
