I think its fair to say that the highlight of our trip was our 4 day weekend in a small town about 3.5hrs south of Perth called Margaret River. The area is famous for its wineries and beaches - both of which are phenomenal! My girlfriend Suzi organized the weekend and found an amazing house that was both kid friendly, and a relaxing retreat for the grown-ups.
We headed down on Friday December 18, and Ines took the kids for a little walk of the gardens while we unpacked the cars and settled into the house.
On Saturday morning headed to beautiful Redgate Beach.
We spent a perfect afternoon relaxing, chatting, enjoying some drinks, and playing a little didgeridoo.

In the afternoon Ines looked after the kids while Blair, Suzi, Chris and I headed out to sample some of the local wines. The photo below is from one of our favourite West Australian Wineries, Voyager.
Later in the day the kids played...

After a fantastic Saturday night enjoying fabulous food, wine and company we started Sunday out with another beach outing and spent the afternoon relaxing at the house.
